Orthosis Thickness
Orthosis Thickness specifies the thickness of a Machined EVA orthosis at it's thinnest regions. These regions are most commonly the forefoot and centre of the heel.

Plantar Grind
A Plantar Grind is a manual adjustment made to the plantar surface of a Machined EVA orthosis. Material is removed from the plantar surface of the midfoot region to allow for improved shoe fit.
The depth of a Plantar Grind is greatest at the medioplantar aspect and gradually tapers to minimal depth at the lateroplantar aspect of a Machined EVA orthosis.

Measuring the required depth for a Plantar Grind can be difficult. The best method is to remove the existing insole from the footwear and measure the distance from the ground to the plantar midfoot region using a measuring wedge. |
