Y-Rib
A Y-Rib is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds thickness in a Y pattern that provides increased thickness on the surface inferior to the talonavicular joint (TNJ), calcaneocuboid joint (CCJ) and midpoint of the 1st metatarsal.
Tip |
---|
This modification is intended to increase the longitudinal and torsional stiffness of a 3D Printed orthosis and is commonly used with thinner overall Shell Thickness requests to facilitate a lighter product with stiffness in more failure prone areas. |
Default Value | Minimum Value | Maximum Value |
---|---|---|
0mm | 0mm | 2mm |
K-Rib
A K-Rib is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds thickness in a K pattern that provides increased thickness on the surface inferior to the talonavicular joint (TNJ), lateral longitudinal arch (LLA) and midpoint of the 1st metatarsal.
Tip |
Cuboid Plantar Modifier
A Cuboid Plantar Modifier is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds thickness on the surface inferior to the cuboid.
Tip |
---|
This modification is intended to increase the longitudinal stiffness of the lateral longitudinal arch (LLA). |
Default Value | Minimum Value | Maximum Value |
---|---|---|
0mm | 0mm | 2mm |
Styloid Plantar Modifier
A Styloid Plantar Modifier is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds thickness on the surface inferior to the styloid process.
Tip |
---|
This modification is intended to increase the longitudinal stiffness of the lateral longitudinal arch (LLA). |
Default Value | Minimum Value | Maximum Value |
---|---|---|
0mm | 0mm | 2mm |
Navicular Plantar Modifier
A Navicular Plantar Modifier is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds thickness on the surface inferior to the talonavicular joint (TNJ).
Tip |
---|
This modification is intended to increase the longitudinal stiffness of the medial longitudinal arch (LLA). |
Default Value | Minimum Value | Maximum Value |
---|---|---|
0mm | 0mm | 2mm |
1st Ray Plantar Modifier
A 1st Ray Plantar Modifier is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds or removes thickness on the surface inferior to the 1st metatarsal.
Tip |
---|
This modification is intended to increase or decrease the longitudinal stiffness of the medial longitudinal arch (MLA). A negative value is intended to result in less ground reaction force resisting the plantarflexion of the 1st metatarsal joint. This is intended to allow for a more efficient windlass function during the gait cycle. |
Default Value | Minimum Value | Maximum Value |
---|---|---|
0mm | -1mm | 2mm |
5th Ray Plantar Modifier
A 5th Ray Plantar Modifier is a modification applied to the plantar surface of a 3D Printed orthosis. This modification adds or removes thickness on the surface inferior to the 5th metatarsal.
Warning |
---|
A negative value in this field is not recommended when using semi-weight bearing or weight-bearing scan formats, as this will result in a lateral arch that is of low thickness and prone to failure. |
Default Value | Minimum Value | Maximum Value |
---|---|---|
0mm | -1mm | 2mm |
