Prerequisites

Heel Bisection Method

The heel bisection is used as a reference measurement during the computer-aided design process. As such is not assumed, nor required, to have any relationship with subtalar joint neutral.

Procedure

Capture/Import Scan

  1. Create New Prescription, or select an Active Job and click Continue

  2. Capture a scan, or
    SOP: Capturing 3D Scans
    - Import a 3D scan from the 3D Scans page of LaserCAM Prescribe

  3. Connect the USB cable into both the scanner and the USB port on your PC

  4. Turn on the scanner by pressing in the red button on the side of the scanner

Tip

If the LaserCAM VPS is connected correctly, your PC should beep when you turn on the scanner.

Configure LaserCAM VPS

  1. Open LaserCAM Prescribe

  2. Click New Prescription

    1. You may pick any available prescription method

  3. Click 3D Scans

  4. Click the Devices dropdown from the top right hand corner of the screen

  5. Select LaserCAM VPS

If the LaserCAM VPS is not an available device, then you will need to re-install LaserCAM Prescribe. Please refer to our Getting Startedguide for more information.

Capture 3D Scan

  1. Position the scanner appropriately in relation to the foot.

  2. Click Scan Left Foot/Scan Right Foot desired time delay

  3. Hold the foot in a desired position and wait for the scanning process to begin

  4. Allow the scanner to complete two passes (up and back)

  5. A 3D scan will now appear within your left foot window in LaserCAM Prescribe
