The following illustrates a standard operating procedure (SOP) for capturing 3D scans using the LaserCAM VPS, or LaserCAM VPS Negative within LaserCAM Prescribe.



Prerequisites

(tick) Active internet connection

(tick) LaserCAM Prescribe installed

(tick) LaserCAM VPS

Goals

  • Connect LaserCAM VPS
  • Capture 3D scan using LaserCAM VPS

Procedure

Connect 3D Scanner

  1. Connect the provided power supply unit (PSU) to your LaserCAM VPS 3D scanner

  2. Connect the USB cable into both the scanner and the USB port on your PC

  3. Turn on the scanner by pressing in the red button on the side of the scanner

If the LaserCAM VPS is connected correctly, your PC should beep when you turn on the scanner.

Configure LaserCAM VPS

  1. Open LaserCAM Prescribe

  2. Click New Prescription

    1. You may pick any available prescription method

  3. Click 3D Scans

  4. Click the Devices dropdown from the top right hand corner of the screen

  5. Select LaserCAM VPS

If the LaserCAM VPS is not an available device, then you will need to re-install LaserCAM Prescribe. Please refer to our Getting Started guide for more information.

Capture Sample 3D Scan

  1. Position the patient’s foot relative to the scanner.

  2. Click Scan Left Foot desired time delay

  3. Place your hand in front of the 3D scanner surface and wait for scanning to initiate

  4. Allow the scanner to complete two passes (up and back)

  5. A 3D scan will now appear within your left foot window in LaserCAM Prescribe
