The following illustrates a standard operating procedure (SOP) for applying a heel skive in FotoView.


Prerequisites

  • 3D foot scan aligned in FotoView

Goals

  • Apply a Heel Skive in FotoView

Procedure

  1. Click Adjust Mesh → Any View

  2. Click Close from the Adjust Mesh toolbar


    (info) The Skive menu option will now be selectable

  3. Click Skive from the top menu

    (info) A Skive Plate will now appear on the display in an orientation specified by the Depth and Degree values specified on the Machined EVA prescription.

  4. The Skive Plate controls will also appear, which provides fine control over the position of the Skive Plate

  5. Use the Skive Plate controls to orientate the Skive Plate according to the prescriptive variables

Skives can be requested on the Machined EVA prescription form using the Depth/Degree Method and also the STJ Axis Method. Please reference the individual guides below for assistance.

Depth/Degree Method

When Depth/Degree Method is selected on the Machined EVA prescription form, it will be visible under the 3D Scan Alignment header, within the Skive row.

  1. Follow Steps 1-4 listed above

  2. Click View → Back

  3. Check the Degree of your Skive Plate using the Measure → Angle tool

  4. Click View → Right Side (left foot) / View → Left Side (right foot)

  5. Use the Pitch Fore/Aft control to match the specified Inclination


  6. Orientate the Skive Plate so that you can accurately measure the Depth

  7. Check the Depth of your Skive Plate using the Measure → Distance tool

Your 3D scan should now be aligned in FotoView, and you should be ready to generate your orthosis model.
