The Your LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System is housed within a safety enclosure. This safety enclosure does not allow for the machine to be in operation when the enclosure is open. Under no circumstance should the machine be operated with the enclosure open.

Goals

  •  Turn on and prepare the your LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System for machining
  •  Load and run an NC file using UCCNC

Procedure

Turn on LaserCAM

CNC System

  1. Turn on LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System from green switch

  2. Wait 10 seconds for connection

Open UCCNC

  1. Open the Symbiosis shortcut

  2. This should be located on your desktop

  3. This is loads UCCNC with the correct configuration

    LaserCAM CNC System shortcut from your desktop

Prepare LaserCAM

CNC System

  1. Click green button on LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System safety enclosure

  2. Click flashing Reset button on UCCNC interface

  3. Click P1

  4. Click P2

  5. Click Diagnostics

  6. Disarm LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC

  7. Touch the Tool Probe on the router bit

  8. Ensure Probe light flashes green within UCCNC

  9. Place the Tool Probe within the circle on the LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC

  10. Click the Tool Probe button on the UCCNC

  11. Disarm LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC

  12. Remove the Tool Probe from the LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC

The LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC will now be referenced

Tip

You are now ready to attach your EVA blanks or EVA blocks to the table surface.

Prepare EVA Blanks

  1. Prepare the required EVA blanks according to patient prescriptions

    1. Reference Orthosis Size (US Foot Size) and Density & Colour from patient prescription

    2. Apply double-sided tape to the plantar surface of all EVA blanks

  2. Adhere EVA blanks to the appropriate reference position on the LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System

    1. Reference positions will be marked P1, P2, P3 and , P4, etc.

Tip

Please ensure that you press down firmly on the EVA blanks after placement on the LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System. Inadequate adhesion can result in a machining hazard.

Load & Run NC File

  1. Arm LaserCAM Symbiosis CNC System

  2. Click Load G Code in UCCNC

  3. Select your desired the NC file that was generated using ViewRouter

  4. Click Cycle Start in UCCNC

Note

The selected NC files must have been generated using ViewRouter with the correct MillCFG file.
