The following illustrates a standard operating procedure (SOP) for configuring the LaserCAM Lab Code within LaserCAM Prescribe. This will ensure digital prescription are submitted to the correct laboratorymachining an NC file using the LaserCAM 2 Pair Pro, LaserCAM 6 Pair Pro and LaserCAM 12 Pair Pro CNC Systems.

Goals

  •  Update LaserCAM Lab Code
  •  Optional: Submit digital prescription to laboratory

Procedure

Update LaserCAM Lab Code

  1. Open LaserCAM Prescribe

  2. Click the Settings icon from the top right corner and select Update Lab Code

  3. Type in your laboratories LaserCAM Lab Code

  4. Click OK

Tip

If LaserCAM Prescribe restarts, you have configured for your chosen laboratory.

Optional: Laboratory Confirmation

It is recommended that you submit a test prescription to your configured laboratory.

  1. Open LaserCAM Prescribe

  2. Click New Prescription

    1. You may pick any available prescription method

  3. Click Patient Details

  4. Enter a test name, e.g. - Test Submission

  5. Click Review Prescription

  6. Click Finalise Prescription → Finalise & Send to Lab

Your LaserCAM CNC System is housed within a safety enclosure. This safety enclosure does not allow for the machine to be in operation when the enclosure is open. Under no circumstance should the machine be operated with the enclosure open.

Goals

  •  Turn on and prepare your LaserCAM CNC System for machining
  •  Load and run an NC file using UCCNC

Procedure

Turn on LaserCAM CNC System

  1. Turn on LaserCAM CNC System from green switch

  2. Wait 10 seconds for connection

Open UCCNC

  1. Open the LaserCAM CNC System shortcut from your desktop

Prepare LaserCAM CNC System

  1. Click green button on LaserCAM CNC System safety enclosure

  2. Click flashing Reset button on UCCNC interface

  3. Click P1

Tip

You are now ready to attach your EVA blanks or EVA blocks to the table surface.

Prepare EVA Blanks

  1. Prepare the required EVA blanks according to patient prescriptions

    1. Reference Orthosis Size (US Foot Size) and Density & Colour from patient prescription

    2. Apply double-sided tape to the plantar surface of all EVA blanks

  2. Adhere EVA blanks to the appropriate reference position on the LaserCAM CNC System

    1. Reference positions will be marked P1, P2, P3, P4, etc.

Tip

Please ensure that you press down firmly on the EVA blanks after placement on the LaserCAM CNC System. Inadequate adhesion can result in a machining hazard.

Load & Run NC File

  1. Arm LaserCAM CNC System

  2. Click Load G Code in UCCNC

  3. Select the NC file that was generated using ViewRouter

  4. Click Cycle Start in UCCNC

Note

The selected NC files must have been generated using ViewRouter with the correct MillCFG file.
